Itinerary: Our tours commence at 9am and conclude at 5pm on each day, with pick up and drop off from accommodation or railway station of your choice.  Sites explored and points of discussion:

Adelaide Cemetry: The Unknown Soldier, burials on the battlefield.
Victoria School Musee Franco-Australien, commemorations.
Australian National Memorial, Australian missing.
Le Hamel: Australian Corps Memorial Park, Monash, Americans and the 100 days.
Sailly-le-Sec: Australian 3rd divisional memorial, memorials.
Albert: Albert: Basilica, myths and memory.
La Boisselle: Lochnagar Crater & Glory Hole, mining – the underground war.

Lunch at a local tea room

Pozieres-memorialPozieres: Australian 1st divisional memorial, Gibraltar Blockhouse, Windmill and Tank Memorial, tanks and Australians on the Somme.
Mouquet Farm: German defences.
Thiepval: Thiepval Memorial and Visitors Centre, the missing of the Somme. 



DAY 2:

Beaumont Hamel: Newfoundland Memorial Park, day to day life in the trench.
Flers: Bulls Road and A.I.F Cemetery, cold and self-inflicted wounds.
Bapaume: Town Hall, mines and fossicking.

Lunch at a local tea room

Bullecourt: Slouch Hat Memorial and The Bullecourt Digger, scorched earth and the Hindenburg line. The John and Denise Letaille Museum.
