Paris:
Enjoy a day out in the capital city. Only 1hr 30 minutes away by direct route A1 motorway. There is also a high-speed train service within easy reach.

Lille:
The European Cultural Capital 2004. Only 40 minutes away by direct route A1 motorway, Lille is a busy bustling city. Stroll around the large squares and admire the stunning architecture. Dine in one of the many cosy bistros, or look around the shops in Eurolille, a large modern shopping complex in the heart of the city. Every year on the first weekend in September the city hosts the largest antique fair in Europe Braderie de Lille when the city is packed with hundreds of stalls where you can pick up anything from antique lace to a wardrobe.

LiileArras:
The historic city of Arras is a mere 30 minutes away. It has a wealth of interesting architecture and history, a gothic town hall, 18thcentury monuments and Art Deco buildings. Every December there is a wonderful open air Christmas market where you can purchase that extra special present.

Amiens:
40 minutes by road takes you west to Amiens. A large bustling city the home of Jules Verne, with a host of canals you can sail to the water gardens or visit its many museums and fantastic medieval cathedral.

Throughout December there is Marche de Noel the largest Xmas market in northern France, with 110 wooden chalets in the centre of the city selling a wide variety of goods.
